    A good weekend Vagabonds

It’s near zero here this morning and snowing.

By the channel 3 weather report it’s -22 on Mt. Washington with wind chill of -63. Mt. Washington has world record wind gusts of over 200 mph.

First Sunday in Lent, we used to do Wednesday evening services with four other churches during Lent but, we haven’t heard anything about it for three years now.

In a little while I will head out for grocery shopping this morning, then spend the rest of the day hugging the stove.

    Happy day to all.

    Morning, Village!

    .

I love reading vintage comics! Right now I’m reading the Little Orphan Annie stories by Leonard Starr in the 1980s!

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

Dawn has cracked, and it’s 39. It got all the way up to 51 yesterday! Supposed to be 48 today, with rain later in the day. That’s why we’re getting out early in order to finish all our errands before it starts. We’re even going to get the car washed.

Made some killer cookies yesterday…….with oats, toasted pecans, chocolate chips and coconuts. They’re called Texas Cowboy Cookies. They were huge! It was from a recipe from Laura Bush. The first batch could only fit 8 to the sheet. I cut those in half and finished off with another 20 smaller cookies. Great recipe. If y’all stop by, they’re in the cookie jar. Help yourself.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Another week-end. Another quilting class. I am having a lot of fun with this even if all I do is cut and sew 3″×3 1/2" pieces. The fellowship is great!

Mid 70’s today. A good day for airing out again.

Gotta run. I’m picking up another quilter in about 20 minutes and I still haven’t gotten dressed!

    Everyone have a blessed day.

    Good afternoon, Vagabonds @ 12:17 p.m.

Snow? Wow! It’s 81 in the shade on the patio thermometer right now.

I was out doing errands and happened to see the several large buses (RVs?) for the Willie Nelson / Dwight Yoakam show in this area tonight. Every time I think of Willie Nelson, I want to watch the Gone Fishin’ movie again!

    Hi Vagabonds

“It’s another pleasant valley Sunday.” The sun is shining bright here with temperature near zero, this should be the last of the deep freeze for a while.

I think I’ll enjoy this beautiful day from inside the house.

    Keep happy Vagabonds.

    Good Morning, Vagabouds

DKRAM, that sounds like a lovely way to spend a beautiful cold winter day. Snug inside your home, looking out the window at the snow. I’m a little envious (really!). fif

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

We had our little excursion yesterday, and boy am I tired! It took forever to separate and prep for the freezer all the meats and chicken. I’d say we have enough for the next 5 or 6 months. The quality is Prime, with prices like Costco. Their beef is grass fed, from local ranchers.

The hills and passes are still snow covered, but the lower areas are pretty much melted. We still might get a few snow flurries here, but nothing will stick. (I’ll probably eat my words in a month). Anyway, it will probably take a month for the grasses to start greening up. Such an amazing renewal of life!

Florchi…….I love Willie Nelson! He gave a free concert up here a few years ago. They raffled off some tickets in each community. Needless to say, we didn’t win. I love his gentle voice.

    Enjoy.

*Rita*….I didn’t get to the show last night, but I too enjoy Willie Nelson’s gentle voice and singing style. I enjoy the Gone Fishin’ movie because he is in it, because it’s a hoot, and because I have spent time in the Everglades City/Chokoloskee area where a lot of the the scenes were filmed. When I was spending time in Everglades City, back in the late 90s & early 00s, they had a year-round population of approx. 500. The small “city” was in the middle of nowhere with a population of a zillion mosquitoes in the summertime. The island of Chokoloskee, about 10 minutes south of Everglades City via a "causeway,” is even more remote. A story I heard was that one evening, after dinner at a small Chokoloskee cafe—Willie took his guitar and sat on the restaurant’s front steps and did a little singing, something he could do at a remote location in the ‘Glades, without any fear of of creating a mob scene. In the film’s soundtrack, Willie does a great job with the late Totch Brown’s song, Down in the Everglades.</> As to Totch, well that’s another story….

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Ladies, while I’m not much of a country music fan, I too love Willie Nelson. He’s one of the “ear worms” that I don’t mind too much. Funny thing is that not really liking country music, one of the two music concerts I’ve seen in my lifetime was BJ Thomas. He did a few country songs and of course “Raindrops”, but then asked the audience if we minded if he sang some of his Christian music. We all said yes, please and it turned out to be one of the most uplifting evenings of my life. He does an aweome “Amazing Grace”.

Another day in the mid 70’s here. Gotta love it!

    Everyone have a blessed Sunday.
