For now. A recession will be right around the corner as corporate profits go flat. Not trump’s fault, though, most administrations that follow a two term president with a reasonably robust economy go through recessions in the first year of a new administration. But the potential trade war is really the most disturbing. Hoover got elected making all sorts of promises like trump. Then, the republican Congress implemented the Smoot Hartley tariffs, and the world was plunged into a global depression. Interestingly, even though all countries suffered, the US suffered the worst losses during that trade fiasco. Hopefully the republicans will have at least a LITTLE historical perspective before they implement trump’s tariffs. Seems the trial balloon about the 20% import tariff on Mexican imports fell flat among the cons, so that’s a positive note.

Down today, a few more Trump EOs, or just idiotic tweets, and the bottom could well fall out.
