I guess the chickens aren’t exactly crossing the road, so this doesn’t really answer the question …

Chickens ARE CRAZY
A little problem here, chickens. You can’t actually fly. How fast can you run?
DIAT60 – Yes they can. Just not very far. Just like turkey’s. Probably best to run in this case I suppose.

So, why are they chasing the van? Now I see it. If you go back to Feb. 2, the chickens had strung up the dog in apparent preparation to roast her for dinner, then the local dogs rescued her.
