The battle was actually at Breed’s Hill, below Bunker. The farmer/solders at Bunker, just stayed there not wanting to get into the fight which was why the colonists lost the battle. Even so it was a win for them. It showed what could be done against as well-organized army.
The USA Monitor vs the CSA Virginia (formally the USA Merrimack). Would have fixed the mistakes of not saying so. Essentially the USA fought against its own Ironclad taken by the enemy and put into use against them.
