Some of the best comic strips Lynn Johnston does are when she pokes a little fun at her avatar of Elly Patterson. “Skate, Mike! Skate!” is a great hockey cheer. Let’s skip that “Skate! Shoot! Score!” stuff and stick with just the “Skate” part. It makes Elly seem geeky and adorable at the same time. You can tell she is having a great time cheering and it doesn’t really matter if her son is on the ice or not. “Cheer, Elly! Cheer!”
Nope no way no how!! Was a hockey dad twice and one thing without question that can never be denied in any way, every single hockey mom without question knows when their kid is on the ice…lol Oh yes believe me this is FACT LMAO!!!
I would think it would be pretty hard to tell one kid from another, what with all the equipment, pads and helmets. I can just picture the little grommets on skates, winging and swinging, futilely swiping at the puck and each other.

I’d be surprised there’s more than one Michael on the team and one or few of them are already on the ice.

Lynn’s Notes:
Yeah, I can still feel my cheeks sting with embarrassment.

It’s ok to cheer for the other kids,as long as they’re on the same team!
