    “Thinking numbers” versus “thinking team, win, and cooperation.” This gives us a good reason why Michael’s team is losing. A more competent hockey coach might say something like: “Be first on the puck,” or “attack the net” or “don’t forget to backcheck” or “block their shots” or “finish your hits when you do bodychecking” or “make your passes hard and fast” or “don’t turn the puck over.”

    I had a very optimistic college roommate. He was in a checker game, made a bad move, other player forced him into a jump that resulted in a loss of four of his own men! He just looked at the board and said “Now how can I use this to my advantage?”
