Mike: Hey, J.J.! You seen my moral compass? J.J.: Nope. Maybe you left it at work. Roland: We're talking with Armand Legg, California realtor and the chairman of "Friends of Ed Meese." Mr. Legg, you recently raised $700,000 to cover Mr. Meese's legal bills, the big question: why? Armand: Good question, Roland. As you know, the government is required to reimburse him, however, since the justice department has to rule on the amount, I knew Mr. Meese, as attorney general would be deeply anguished over the possible conflict of interest. I felt that he'd already made enough tough calls, morality-wise and that it was time someone showed some appreciation for this magnificent public servant. I only wish I had the chance to go to Washington and serve my country as faithfully and unselfishly as Mr. Meese has. Roland: I see. Well, thank you, Mr... Armand: Hint, hint!
