rj: the "three body problem" verne: It's a physics problem involving gravity and predictability of orbits. verne: one body's orbit is stable and easy to predict...two bodies stabalize other....but three bodies' orbit is impossible to predict. rj: This is news to you?

The solution to the two-body problem is an ellipse with the more massive one at one focus. There are no analytic functions that are the solution to the three-body problem, but the orbit is predictable numerically.

Too funny. Definitely my laugh for the day. What a way to wake up. Thank you.

Man has ever tried to predict the outcome of the three body problem, but it impossible to predict the reaction of the two women. ;-)

His unpredictability is predictable.

Thank you, Verne. I had heard the term but couldn’t recall what it meant. Mainly I remembered its use in a sex joke by Randall Munroe.
