    Hi Ho Vagabonds

It’s a balmy 3 about and sunny at this time, however, the temperatures are expected to rise to forty. (0.o)

Tomorrow is Town Meeting Day when we all go to the town hall and do town business. All town officers, the budget and all that.

Hay, Florchi, have they got that big brush fire under control? It’s big enough to make the morning news today.

My cat Patches is lucky she is so cute, she knocked over the DVD rack and now I got to pick up all those DVDs, and there are a few VHS involved. (-.-)

I’ve got work to do, Later.

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

Cold again……24 during the night, and it got all the way up to 42 and snowed for a while yesterday. They say more of the same today. Brrrrrrr.

I remember Town Meetings when we lived in Acton, CA. Those were really great gatherings, and because they were non-partisan, we really got things done! Are you one of the officers, Mark?

Well, the week is starting all over again. Same ole, same ole.

    Happy Trails

Good morning, VV folks: @ DKRAM: There haven’t been any wildfire fires affecting the Fort Lauderdale area. Our air is clear and clean and I even checked the Florida Fire Service updates. According to the FFS map, there are some controlled burns and some wildfires in other areas – but not anywhere around here at this time. Sometimes we get atmospheric smoke from fires in the ’Glades, but – as I said – our air is presently clean and clear.

As to our local politics, well that’s a different story. Many residents of my fair city would love to have some town hall meetings with open public debate. However, the powers-that-be hold “workshops” where they us what they are going to do, and then they tell us if we have any questions, we can write the questions on the index cards on the table in the back of the room (and then, “someone will get back to you.”). Are we citizens or subjects? What’s that quote attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville…something like, In a democracy the people get the government they deserve. Without term limits, nothing will change until a sufficient number of people are willing to speak up (and willing to pay attention to what’s going on before they cast their votes). Town hall meetings with open discussion? Wow! Count your blessings!! fif

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Mark, we don’t get town hall meetings. We get City Council meetings at which you can make 5 minute comments on specific subjects. Oh, and they don’t always let you know when the meetings are going to be.

It’s a beautiful day here. Yesterday, though was a mess. We had very high winds all afternoon and evening. We lost some tree branches, but nothing major. Others have had trees blow over and power lines down. (We have underground power lines in this neighborhood, so no problems with that, thank heaven.) It was nice and calm this morning, and should hit the low 70’s again.

Mary is here cleaning up for me, and as usual, I feel guilty for sitting here online while she’s working hard.

    Everyone have a blessed day.
