A republican approaches "The Last Honest Republican." He is holding the repeal of The Endangered Species Act. Republican: I'm afraid we've got more bad news for you.
Look, people in general, and Democratic politicians in particular, need to realize and deal with the fact that the Richpiglicons and their authoritarian Evangelical/Dominionist fellow-travelers have no doubt that “nice-guys finish last.” The utterly ruthless right-wing, especially the likes of President Bannon et al., are all about winning and power at any cost, and view what is happening as war in a very literal sense. Bodies piling up are to be expected. (Think Kent State & more…) Any effort to “play nice” with these people will simply be exploited. RESIST!
The Trump administration is the physical embodiment of 1984, and what one general (paraphrased) said in Vietnam:We must destroy the country in order to save it.
What worries me is that Trump is sucking up so much media time and effort that the GOP-controlled Congress is going to get away with massively awful things — like this, or repealing the Clean Air Act, say — that otherwise people would be outraged by.
Conservative pundit David Brooks: “I still have trouble seeing how the Trump administration survives a full term. Judging by his Thursday press conference, President Donald Trump’s mental state is like a train that long ago left freewheeling and iconoclastic, has raced through indulgent, chaotic and unnerving, and is now careening past unhinged, unmoored and unglued.” And this: “The likelihood is this: We’re going to have an administration that has morally and politically collapsed, without actually going away.” And finally this: "The first conclusion is obvious. This administration is more like a medieval monarchy than a modern nation-state. It’s more The Madness of King George than The Missiles of October. The key currency is not power, it’s flattery. The corollary is that Trump is ripe to be played. Give the boy a lollipop and he won’t notice if you steal his lunch. "
I posted a link to Facebook about H.R. 424 which takes the gray wolf off of the list of protected species. The first person who “liked” and shared the post consistently votes Republican. She also was the steward when she belonged to a union.
Let’s see now, other Republicans have publicly called Trump a “pathological liar” (Ted Cruz), “unfit to be Commander-in-Chief” (Rick Perry), and a “madman” (Bobby Jindal). Oddly, two of those three weren’t honest enough to maintain their correct positions, and recanted.

Both parties are only self serving. Maintain the power, and the hell with the people.
Until an end to gerrymandering, and more than 20% of voters actually know who their reps are, we’re doomed to Congressional lifers.

THEIR OLD GUARD is WEAK {a rhyme}
Old-guard Repugnantans’ve lost their heft,
so to Trumpism they have succumbed.
They thereby have left
their party bereft
of good judgment. Down it’s been dumbed.

WORDS ENDING WITH “-ition” {a rhyme}
President Trump’s of an odd disposition.
Yuuge are his gaffes, but he shows no contrition.
Egomaniacal. Inordinate ambition.
Faulty in cognition.
Faulty intuition.
Let’s end this rhyme with a preposition: -
- Look where he’s got this country at.

Mitch and Ryan are doing there very best to keep the honest ones in a box (it’s a small box though).. but thankfully the box is showing cracks.

One of the last of the GOP’s Old Guard, John McCain, decided to skip town rather than vote Yea or Nay on Scott Pruitt.

back to MDAVIS4183: {a rhyme}
It isn’t that our cartoonist Toles
fudges the facts when cleverly he trolls.
The venerable Toles instead takes his tolls
quite honestly. AND with honorable goals
such as putting the dishonest Trumpster
where he surely belongs: – in the dumpster.
