    Having a forever home means you don’t get cast out, Koko. Medicated, operated, always veterinated, and eventually put to sleep, but not cast out. Sure you want to play that game?

    Shouldn’t that be pack instead of herd? In any case, I agree with Charlie Fogwhistle. All of our dogs lived long, healthy lives. Only one died of unnatural causes – we suspect he may have been poisoned. The other two died of old age – one in his sleep – in his own bed, the other in my arms.
