Very fitting. But I still tear up a little reading it every time. Poor Dick and Lacey. They were two of my favorite characters and life without him was so hard for her.
This strip has become extra poignant as, in October of 2023, the Bachman’s Warbler was officially declared extinct by the US Fish&wildlife service.
