Marigold said in one strip she remembers when there was a glacier covering where they currently are (implied to be Washington), implying that she was around during the ice age.

Phoebe should ask her if she’s ever seen a mammoth or ground sloth.

Phoebe has stated her age as nine both at the start of the strips run, and rather recently. I think the effect is rubbing off.

I guess Marigold is just proving that age is a number.

ya know, better is not an age, it is knowledge. And that does not depend on time . . . AU

Marigold says these things quite often. It seems as though she is very much more Dakota than Phoebe at times.

Phoebe should’ve seen Marigold’s ego-answer coming a mile away.

The curious thing is that once you reach a certain age, it switches around and being older means you’re inferior.

Well, she is a unicorn after all…and they believe there is nothing greater than themselves, so…

Considering some of the past hints about Marigold’s age, I’d imagine that even if she HAD been keeping track, she’d have long lost count by now.

It makes sense that a implied very-long-lived race wouldn’t bother with the keeping track of age though. I’d imagine that after a certain point it just becomes meaningless to them.
