I remember a Warner Brothers cartoon that showed a dog sitting on a stump and pointing to the side; the announcer couldn’t figure out if it was a setting pointer or a pointing setter, so they switched to a picture of a poinsettia.
The term ice box was used for years for refrigs. Also, refrigerators were called frigidairs even when made by GE and others. Thus, today we see the® on many products reminding us of it being a registered trademark.
I can remember 70 years ago my parents had an ice box and a man delivered ice and brought it in the house and chipped it till it fit in the box. I also had 2 uncles who worked at an ice plant and helped make the ice.
