Should the Dragon Lady meet P’gell?

No one wants ‘The Octopus’ to win.

So… it would have been Diet Smith bidding against Warbucks and the Dragon Lady bidding against the Octopus. She certainly doesn’t have big hands, though.

Let’s stop for a second and appreciate what Mike and Joe have given us: The Spirit. Interrogating the Dragon Lady. Two comics legends appearing in the funnies for the first time in decades. And together.

Thanks, guys. Your seats at the head table in comics’ Valhalla are reserved.

Does that mean Diet Smith is not a person of interest? Only Oliver Warbucks and Dragon Lady’s hands were given prominence on the days they were featured.

Are we finally going to know who the fifth bidder is now that the remaining bidders are being interviewed? I also don’t believe that Mike Curtis somehow made a mistake on the number of bidders.

If the Spirit is the fifth bidder, I do not think he should be the one interviewing the Dragon Lady since he should also be a suspect regardless of what he do for Dolan. There’s a conflict of interest somewhere there.

Very interesting dialogue. “You of all people should know” why Guang Dong wants the formula, she says. So what does The Spirit know we don’t? (Okay, a lot, but I mean, that’s relevant.)

“We couldn’t let the Octopus win” tells me that the Octopus is indeed the one behind the killing. (I thought the time spent discussing the Octopus over coffee was more than just filler. It was Chekov’s coffee clatch!

I said somewhere that I thought the Octopus was impersonating Warbucks. Everyone was expecting the Octopus to make a move to get the formula, and with Carrion there, we’re to think that was his only move.

And with Carrion busted on something as simple as serial numbers from a bank robbery (sloppy!), we’d logically all think the Octopus is out of it. And that’s the perfect time for him to make his move.

Lai Choi San is Dragon Lady? I’m so confused!

Let’s see…I forget, is this strip “The Spirit” or “Terry and the Pirates”? LOL

A pattern is emerging: Oh, we knew the formula was just so much baloney, but we were bidding to keep the other guys from winning…

It must be cold in the Siam Hotel for Dragon Lady to have to wear a fur coat, a fur hat, and gloves inside her room. She looks like she is preparing for a snowstorm inside.

Spirit is wearing his hat in a dorky manner as well.

What happened to Hotshot Charlie? What was the point of his appearance in this tale?

They’re dragging this thing out a bit too much, IMHO.

The Dragon Lady makes it clear enough in her exchange with the Spirit that rival crime mobs are vying for international power here and apparently saw the Elixir of Life as a desirable asset in asserting dominance. The lady of the Eastern Expanse would stop the Octopus, who would stop her. And the Spirit purportedly represents the United Nations (or a bureau within it) in this affair.

I would not go so far as to say Tracy is out of his depth here, but it may come to pass that he will require the aid of the resources of Oliver Warbucks and Diet Smith and the Lunarians!

I thought Doubleup had killed the Dragon Lady!
