Had two dachshunds at one time. He was rather dumb but laid back and the other rather dominate and hyper who kept walking the perimeter to kill something coming into her territory. Had a doggy door and she would stand half in and half out listening to the birds until she was satisfied or charged out to kill something. She brought two “trophy” wood rats and laid them beside my wife’s chair. We had mole problem when we got her, but within a month, no more moles. I think dogs will eat anything.

I heard a report and a related interview on NPR yesterday morning. I am not making this up: The report said that, in the last month for which there are statistics (Feb or Jan), border crossings are down 40%. Why? The woman interviewed, translated from Spanish, said, “Well, we don’t know what Trump will do so it’s not worth it.” Again, I am not making this up, and i did not personally vet the report or the interview. It just made me laugh.

I’m am aging hippie, okay aged hippie, and I’d never dream of giving a dog vegan chow. Meat, lots of meat, for my cats.

Now that’s extreme vetting.
