Dan Quayle: The key to being made "1989 father of the year," Mark, is quality time! Lots and lots and lots of quality time! Mark: I see, so will you be touring? Dan Quayle: Yes, I'll be gone about seven months. Mark: We've got a special treat on tap for you night owls! With me right now is Vice President Dan Quayle, who was recently named "1989 father of the year" by the national Father's Day committee! "1989 father of the year"! That's quite an honor, Mr. Vice President! Dan Quayle: yes, it is, Mark...but, you know, basically it's a tribute to my father! He's the one who set the example for me in the parenting department! For instance, once a week, he'd make me sit down and recite golden's rule, which goes "do with otehrs what they would have you undo...or what they themselves do to trespass against those who do it whether or not they...they...um..." Mark: Whatever, the important thing was that you guys talked! Dan Quayle: That's right, Mark! Which is why the chip didn't fall very far from the block!
