This makes me wonder if unicorns are capable of making a magic copy of a living being.
If so, does the copied being have the same memory? Or does it have a separate personality? When it disappears, does its consciousness go back into its original host, or does it disappear completely?
Paperback books used to contain warnings about the reader receiving books without covers, which were books meant to be destroyed and pulled out of circulation. It looks like Phoebe’s copy is already missing its cover.

Disappearing after 24 hours would mean the copy is in danger. That would mean that unicorns are against copy protection.

The book may not be about Unicorns, but it is about horses!
