Jeff: Hey, mom! What's cookin'? Joanie: It's your favorite! Jeff: Yummy! Boil bags! Rick: Guys, I've been thinking of making a change...lately, I've been feeling I need a little more freedom as a writer. I've also been feeling I've got to have a greater time commitment to my family! After a lot of thought, I've decided that I ought to take a leave of absence from the paper-go on a real sabbatical. What do you think? Joanie: Rick, the paper already gives you the freedom to write whatever you want. They even let you take time for books. Jeff: Yeah, and you write 'em at home. I see you all the time. If you were home more, I'd start feeling guilty about wanting to see my friends. Rick: OK. Joanie: But it was a devil-may-care thought dear, very bold! Jeff: Way to take charge of your life, dad.
