Not necessarily true. I have a perpetual calendar at work. There’s no year on it. And it’s made of wood. There are three oblong blocks with four months each on them. Two cube blocks with certain numbers on them (the six and nine are the same one you just turn it whichever way), and then there are four different toppers which I change on the first day of the new season (watermelons, pumpkins, snowman, and bluebird).

They ARE reusable… there are only 14 different configurations possible.
