The only time I had an “English/Literature” class I could stand was Creative Literature or something like that, in 11th grade. We got to read SciFi, fantasy, mystery and horror and our writing assignments were all in those genres. Great subject matter, great teacher, some spectacular times!
This one inspires me to pick up with MY writing again. I’ve really been slacking off lately.
And for the record, the “Alley Oop” strip here on GoComics always has some fun fan fiction by one or two commentators. Check it out for some good reads.

As his teacher says “Wonderful! Write a story outline with a character list and hand that in!”

I was like her in high school. I enjoyed our weekly writing assignments. Nobody else did.

I loved to write, I haven’t been able to for a long time. I’m just too busy. I’d love to go back to it after I earn my degree.

Toby, one thing you will learn about life is that you always have to do things you don’t want to.
An assignment is a minor thing. Just get it done and you’ll never have to think about it again.
