So many Americans bitching about the health-care “system” (as if it were designed instead of just an accidental agglomeration of profit centers), when all we have to do is look across the border to Canada to see an efficient, affordable one that its citizens love. But that would mean that, in this one regard, America isn’t “the greatest country on Earth”, and that might lead people to suspect it could be true in other areas as well.
The insurance companies were not going to leave things alone until they figured out how to extract every penny from healthy people while not covering sick people. ACA had nothing to do with it.
But rather than pay Evil Taxes, we would rather pay top dollar for lousy coverage. We’re exceptional , don’t you know.
To zippy: So then you agree with the mandate in the law that everyone should have insurance? I do too. But more than that, I think that we should have universal health insurance, probably by having Medicare for all.

Republicans dissed Obamacare for 8 years and claimed they had a better plan. When it came to a vote, Republicans lied and had nothing.

Obamacare did the impossible. It made me fondly miss the days of only having to worry if my primary care physician was in network.

Tossedsalad, don’t you miss the old days when it was fee for service only?
You know before there was legislation creating HMOs?
And before Medicare?

Yeah! I don’t want any of that ACA BS! I want access to medical care I can’t possibly hope to afford! Woo-hoo!

Looks like “Mr. Lopez” waited until he was sick to sign up for insurance! Which is one major reason why Obamacare isn’t working.

To tossed: What don’t you like about Obamacare? Please be specific and concrete. As a bonus, how would you make it better?
