I still live in the same town (or county more likely) as my father, stepmother, and five stepsisters. So I sometimes feel like the only boy when it comes to family get-togethers while my only blood sibling (an older brother) lives in a different state.
Three — two brothers, one sister (who’s bringing me to our Temple’s Passover seder tonight — my cousin’ll be meeting us there). We’ll be asking The Four Questions there, but none of them will be today’s…
Second “Daddy’s Home” Question:
Are your parents going to visit? (Sadly, mine have both passed away…)
I guess I’m not the norm here – an only child. My parents and my husband’s parents are all gone. We consider ourselves orphans and would consider being adopted. I guess that answers both questions.
I have a complicated history but since you asked…@Tony Only if you count an older brother and two older sisters plus cousins that I was raised with leading me to answer JPuzzleWhiz’s question. My father killed my mother when I was only three after she attacked him, My sister and I were raised by our father’s sister and her husband. The older sister and our brother each have a different mother. Our father died of a stroke in 2000. My aunt and uncle are separated but alive and well.
One dead brother. One mother in a nursing home on the other side of the continent due to breaking her hip when on a list to friends living in New Jersey. One dead father. Tow living step-mothers and two living half sibs. All at least 2000 miles away. Doesn’t get much better than that.
