My wife can’t eat enough at a buffet to make it worth the price since her gastric bypass. She’ll go if friends and family are coming; but it’s rare that she and I hit a buffet any more. And in general, we try to wait a month or so after any new restaurant opens so that the staff can get their wheels down and the crowds thin out.
We both have medical problems which limit what we can eat. Buffets work great for us as we can pick and choose what we need/want to eat. Problem is that the only non-Asian buffet in the area was closed by the chain that owned it and the other major chain has no locations here – one gets so tired of Asian.

That’s a good way to put it. But I still feel compelled to “eat what I take”, unless it’s really just dreadful.

I have tried a lot of things at a Buffet place that I might not have tried otherwise
If I don’t know what it is, I’m not taking much

…as long as you don’t feel like your being buffeted by too many choices!
