I realize that induction to the NFL Hall of Fame boils down to a judgement call. However, there are clearly cases in which the deciding factors depend more on playing on a loaded team than the player’s actual skills. (I’m looking at you, Terry Bradshaw.) Heck, I – and I’m sure a lot of other fans – can name players who were giants in their positions who’s unforgivable sin was playing for a generally mediocre team and others who’s induction would justify the inclusion of another 200 players.
Would Satan (I mean John Elway) be in the Hall of Fame had he retired after his third Super Bowl loss? Well, yeah. Was he about the 4th or 5th best player on his two teams that won the Super Bowl? Probably.

It’s tough to get in the NFL HoF, only 5-6 players out of 1600 players. Plus an Owner like Jerry Jones this year.

If Romo gets in, ANYBODY should be a HOF’er…. Dude is 2-4 in Playoffs. Not a Big Game QB.

Put Romo’s name on a brick for the direct symbolism, and put it in a walkway so people can have the NFC linebacker experience.

My three criteria:
1—Championships
2—Longevity (has to raise the average for his position)
3—Stats
Three out of three and the guy should go in on the first ballot. Two out of three and we can have a discussion. One out of three and sorry, but no.
Looking at Romo:
1—No championships
2—13 years in the NFL. Current average for quarterbacks in the Hall of Fame is a little over 14 years.
3—I can only think of 1 year when he tore it up statistically (2014). One good stat year out of 13 isn’t that impressive.
So, in my anything-but-humble opinion, no way should Romo be in the Hall of Fame, not if we want the honor to continue to actually mean something.

It is still a bunch of guys in padded clothes, agitating a bag of air.
