President King: (What have I wrought? ...And can it be unwrought?) Students: Thanks for seeing us, President King... President King: Not at all. What can I do for you boys? White student: Well, sir. We're roommates on the Freshman campus... Black student: We were assigned to one another after you desegregated the dorms. White student: We feel we've been victimized by your policy. It violates our right to freedom of association. Black student: And how! It's just not right! White student: Truth be told, there's no way I would ever associate with Ed if I hadn't been forced to room with him! Black student: Ditto here! White student: Why? Because Ed's a jerk! I mean a total jerk! Black student: And it's not a race thing, right, Bill? White student: No, no. He's not a black jerk! His jerkiness transcends race! Black student: As does Bill's complete disregard for personal hygiene! President King: Actually, this is progress. Good day.
