Professor Deadman: (I'd fail this kid in a heartbeat...if only I could afford the lawsuit.) Before we talk about the mid-term, a few words about grading...As many of you may know, I used to view grading as an occasion for accountability. However, a recent lawsuit has complelled me to factor in considerations unrelated to merit. I'm referring, of course, to victimhood. If you belong to a victim group, by virtue of gender, race, religion, ethnicity, class, family dysfunction, disability or addiction, please register your status with the Dean before mid-terms are given. Again, you must be a fully registered victim to receive special consideration over non-victims, who will still be graded on actual performance! Since mid-terms start November 1, the cut-off for registration is October 31. Any questions? Student: Yeah! Doesn't a cut-off discriminate against the time-impaired? Professor: No. Extension will be granted to the clueless.
