That’s the problem…..when there’s trouble, no one thinks of the kids…they’re too focused on themselves….it’s always the children who are hurt the most, in unhappy relationships. Kids are more resilient than they appear, but they still don’t need to feel insecure and be in the middle and used as a pawn.

As a Scout leader I had many children from broken families. Most were there to get noticed and someone who payed attention to them and actually cared about them. I had one young boy who’s birthday was coming up, and all he wanted was both parents to come to the Scout meeting and see what he did there and actually be pleasant to each other. I am not the Fairy Godmother who grants wishes, but this time I did. Several phone calls, playing on their heartstrings and it happened. They actually WERE pleasant. The child was elated. The child got the present that was more valuable than anything else. I won’t say everyone lived happily ever after. That only happens in fairy tales…and YOUR marriage.
