He won’t stay 6 his entire life; just 10 years.

“But I’m starving! I want it now!”

With good parents it’s not so bad to be six!!

But, Dad, he is going to be 6 for the rest of his life, or for the life of this strip anyway. This is one of the strips where the kids never get to grow up!!

And suddenly I’m hungry!

The irony of this strip is that Calvin is still 6… not just for his whole life, but for all of eternity.

Some people get taller and finish school, and get responsible jobs…and remain six. And not necessarily in a good way!

Watterson knew precisely the irony of that line.

Calvin needs to bulk up in a hurry to deal with Moe. That’s a lot of hamburger!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’ll be around long enough to go to Calvin’s seventh birthday party.

Culver’s serves a good burger basket combo.

This is one of the few times when Dad is talking sense.

Six sounds good when one is over 70!

My grandson and I just tell stories while we’re waiting for the coals to heat up. Of course most of the time, we just use the propane grill. Instant flames.

I never understand this. My mother put it best- “People are rushing to get to their graves!”. What’s the hurry, it is over too soon!

It is with Great Sadness (feeling sorry for myself) that I realize that I will never again bite into a nice juicy hamburger. Have a newly acquired meat allergy brought about by the bite of a lone star tick.

Well those chicken burgers do not taste half bad …

I think the first two panels are funnier than the rest of the strip, though it does make a good point.

Many years ago, while out camping, I noticed a woman, several campsites away, dumping a whole can of something(?) over logs in a fire pit. When her match hit the fire pit, the result(!) was magnificent!!

I did think I was going to be six all of my life…and I love Dad’s shorts.

Always was. Always will be.

Then, there is the classic A.A.Milne poem “Now I Am Six”, which I will not recite here.

That’s why I switched to a natural gas grill.

Sometimes I get to wait for 40 minutes to catch a train for office and another 40 minutes for journey. I felt sick for couple of days and later I caught up on my reading books in this time.
