You know, it took me a long time to realize it, but OF COURSE love does NOT mean never having to say you’re sorry! If you hurt someone and you don’t apologize, you just make the gulf between you (and the misunderstanding) a little deeper and wider! What arrogance to say you don’t have to apologize for anything!
When this movie came out, and feminists analyzed it, they said that she got cancer because she stopped studying and gave up her career for him. Interesting idea, no?
And I finally realized that this movie is just over-romanticized mush. It looked good because of the hype, but it was really the same old story - woman gives up her self to become part of the man’s self. Only in this movie, she just couldn’t bear it.
Believe it or not folks, Alex USED TO BE really intelligent.
must be all that lack of sunshine out in Seattle.
Yeh, I know I’m gonna get blasted for that (probably deserve it)
When Oliver was in college, he had a summer job working as a roofer. At the end of the first day, his hands were all covered with tar. No matter how he scrubbed, he still had tar on his knuckles, under his nails, in the creases of his palms…..everywhere! He had a date with Jenny that evening, but he was so embarrassed about his dirty hands that he called it off.
He stayed up half the night scrubbing his hands, and finally got them presentable. The next day, he mentioned the dilemma to his boss, who promptly tossed him a pair of gloves to protect his hands from the tar. And Oliver was able to go out with Jenny and they lived happily ever after until she got cancer and died.
Because as we all know, “Glove means never having to say you’re tarry!”
fbjsr: Yes, we know that you were being sarcastic. What you don’t know is that Chikuku was not being sarcastic.
The male lead of Love Story really was based partly on Al Gore. And he really did play a leading role in funding the transition from ARPANet to the Internet. Erich Segal, author of Love Story, and Vint Cerf, the ‘father of the Internet’, have both publicly defended Gore’s claims.
And the press that you said ‘gave him a free pass on everything’ made constant fun of him in 2000 for telling such transparent lies … that turned out to be true.

“Love Story” was only a little romantic because one of them died. To be really romantic, both of them need to die, like “Romeo & Juliet.”

No, as a matter of fact, that’s not what he said. Neither of your alleged quotations is remotely accurate.
I don’t suppose that you actually read the reference that I provided. Despite its slant, it does give actual quotations, not fake ones like yours.
