Toggle doesn’t like being the turf…

and to all this, I say…love is love. If Alex cares that much about Toggle, then hell, let her stay the night. it’s good for Toggle, it’s good for his well-being. if Momma doesn’t like it, tough gazongas. Not everything is neatly wrapped up in a little quasi-religious bow. Good on you, Mr. Trudeau, for eschewing the easily acceptable storyline for one a little more true-to-life.

mrs deluca’s problem isn’t that alex is spending the night, it’s that she’s taking toggle from her.

Since when are beer-swilling trailer trash so moralistic?
(Forgive the stereo-type, any trailer-dwellers here…)

Anybody gets upset when their (perceived) power (especially over offspring) is threatened, even the adult/veteran baby.
My daughters are 42-1/2, 41, and 21; they’ll be my babies forever.

Hey there Bill… I’ll have you know I grew up in a trailer park, my main household chore as a kid was flattening my dad’s empties, we had a circus act across the street and a reputed mobster down the block… but still, we would’ve considered Toggle’s mom beneath our neighborhood standards. Ya gotta go to Arkansas to find people like her…
No offense to Arkansas intended, of course…

If I remember the story line correctly, Mrs. Deluca only recently lost her house during the mortgage crisis while Toggle was still overseas. Perhaps she’s merely trying to “fit in” with her new environment.
Perhaps she’s trying a bit too hard?

Plus4, the mom who objects was at some anonymous (read: temporary) lover’s house while Toggle’s girlfriend stayed the night. She’s not objecting morally, but territorially.

Toggle will now have a chance to assert himself and pull it all together for everyone, which I welcome.

Mom’s tatoos look like a circle with feathers beneath. A dream catcher.

ArthurAllen, Bingo! Millions of them here in Arizona. Not as tats though. (UGH!)

i’m not sure alex would qualify as being just like mrs. deluca. also, it isn’t clear that mrs d. knew her paramour was a married man before his wife showed up, so why not give her a break, too.

Tat being a dream cathcer might be right..But, as Jeff Foxworthy has said:”Be careful what you tattoo on yourself..That cute porpoise might turn into a Belugia whale later on”..LOL

It looks like mom’s tattoo is a rose - especially in the last panel.

OK on the Dreamcatcher, but it appears to have lost a beer can from the background from frames 2 to 4.

Actually in panel 2 looks like a flag in the background that isn’t there in panel 4. Could it be changing with each scene? Anyone ever noticed that before?

What’s funny, Silverscream, is you think Trudeau cares about some anonymous commenter on a site he may never vist.

“When I was a boy my mother often said to me, Get married boy and see, how happy you will be, I have looked all over, but no girlie can I find, Who seems to be just like the little girl I have in mind. I will have to look around until the right one I have found.”
“By the old mill stream there sits a couple old and gray, Though years have rolled away, their hearts are young and gay, Mother dear looks up at Dad with love-light in her eye, He steals a kiss, a fond embrace, while ev’ning breezes sigh-”

WHAT IS ALL THIS BLATHER ABOUT TRAILER PARK TRASH????? Leo’s mom never represented herself as anything other than herself. She loves Leo very much and would do anything to help. Not everyone gets to live in suburbian nirvana. Not many fit into pre-conceived ideas of ‘a good family’. And their sons and fathers are in the military too! doesnt make them any less or any more than others.

Some folks have assumed that the wife of the cheatin’ husband was out cheatin’ herself. Gimme a break!! There are lots of jobs that women work on the overnight shift. Ever gone to IHOP after a night of club hoppin’? How about a call to 911 or a visit to an emergency room in the wee hours? Until this plays out, I don’t think we should tar the woman with the same broad brush as her hound hubby.
