I don’t remember seeing this one before, Baslim and I’ve been reading this comic pretty steadily these last few years.

Whatever…You know you’ve grown up when you come to the realization that it’s really not best to tell Mom everything.

I think Garry is merely on hiatus while preparing his pre-election Tea Party Slam-a-Thon.

It’s unfortunate that he chose this topic to repeat, since those who don’t know it’s a rerun are led to believe that Alex is having new doubts.

    “Uncle CHUCKLEBUTT”?!

Does this mean he’s not STUPIDHEAD anymore?

I think it’s safe to say there are still some hostilities concerning Mom leaving the family for Zeke…

Nobody has to slam the Tea Party, they are doing a great job all by themselves!

Once upon a time, I had real hope for this country. Then the Republicans decided to be obstructionist and just say NO to anything and everything, blocking or derailing every intelligent effort to move into the future…. simply to be jerks, apparently… and then have the utter gall to scream about a lack of bipartisanship.

Remember when the Republicans threatened the “nuclear option” to do away with the filibuster? …hypocrites, one and all.

Why has everyone forgotten that the economic meltdown took years to create? Years of deregulation and greed and a total lack of ethics? How can anyone expect it to be fixed overnight, and how can anyone be stupid enough to demand MORE deregulation?

How can anyone be so shortsighted as to not see that a fossil-fuel economy is finite, and WILL run out, and in the meantime is destroying our planet? Of course we can’t stop using it overnight, but we HAVE to start transitioning. Why are so many people fighting that so hard?

So now we have the prospect of the impatient, ADD-riddled population returning to the past and the people that put us in this mess.

I have lost that hope. I despair for our country, our future, and our survival.

    Bravo, Kifariel.

The problem is that multinational corporations now provide the lion’s share of funding for both the “Republican Party” and the “Tea Party”. Despite cosmetic differences, they’re both massive marketing/lobbying campaigns to support corporate objectives.

And since the “Citizens United” case 9 months ago, there’s now NO limit to the size of their anonymous donations. They’re flooding the system with cash.

    LOL, Al. I really did.

Kifariel and company, don’t despair. American politics runs around in cycles, and things will turn around again for you. Neither conservatism or progressivism stays on top for long, especially in an environment as highly polarized as ours is today.

corzak, notice how you don’t hear much about that case these days? That’s because government-run General Motors has hopped aboard and is funding messages from their boss. Suddenly, corporate donations are not such a big deal, and you’ll never hear the left media squawk over it again since they’re the big winners in a corporate advertising spending contest.

^The only left media is what? MSNBC?

Here’s the political ad I want to see the Democrats put out there. A drunk elephant comes into a china shop and starts smashing up everything, a vase marked “Economy,” a ewer marked “War”, a plate marked “Civil Liberties,” and so on. All the while it is whooping and laughing and having a great time. Then people chase the elephant out and usher in a donkey - telling it to fix everything. In the next scene the donkey is painstakingly gluing things back together while the elephant looks in through the window saying, “Aren’t you done yet? Aren’t you done yet? Aren’t you done yet?… Hey everybody! He can’t do anything! You should let me in there - I’ll make it all better.”
