I think it somehow reminds me of the titular characters in the 1980s film “Gremlins”: adorable at first sight.
Like one of those little dinosaur toys that grow huge when immersed in water.
It only shows itself as a monster when no one else but Lio is watching! :-D
Reminds me of a Thurber dad: “No son of mine is afraid to go into the woods….” (but only the son sees the creepy man lurking within)
Every now and then, dad gets one over on Lio!
