If Andrew Jackson owned slaves, they were his property!
It’s been observed that the all-time worst Supreme Court decision in history, the Dred Scott Case, was based on the lie that people were property. And the 2nd worst, Citizens United, was based on the reverse lie that property (corporations) are people.
Gosh, some of our past Presidents were slave owners. Who knew? People today are attempting to cover up our past. Sorry the past is a fact and no matter how many statues you remove or historical novels you rewrite, it happened. Way better way to use your time and efforts would be to educate and raise the youth is a positive way.
To olongapo: Problem is, those statues glorify the slaveholding past. So what might you suggest as a way to avoid the problem of glorification and ensure that folks are educated as to the actual history of this country?

No, Trump didn’t say why Jackson would be against a war to end slavery.

If trump said it, it must be true. Right?

I believe what he said was Jackson (who was dead fifteen years) was against the war. “What was that about? Why couldn’t they work it out?”
Because you weren’t there to make an awesome deal, Donnie!
