I put a proxy bid on four wheelchairs being auctioned off by The Oregon Zoo. They are listed as being in good condition and from what i can see of them they look okay.

I have been wanting to get a regular wheelchair for the van. not long after i got the van i used it to go pick someone up at the hospital and had to stop their house to pick up a wheelchair. I have a "transfer chair’, but thats not the same thing.

I can keep the best of the four for myself, i know someone that could use one at her home, and I’m sure that it would be easy to find homes for the other two.

My top (proxy) bid is $40, and presently have the bid at $27. The auction runs for another five days.

If (IF) i win the bid i will go up next Friday. If the day is nice i will make a day of it. I haven’t been to the zoo in a couple of years. It could be fun.

I saw my orthopedic surgeon this morning. Both he and I are satisfied with my progress. It has been eleven weeks since I had both knees replaced and I am mostly pain-free now. I take advantage of my Silver Sneakers card from Humana to get into the local fitness center three times a week and walk in their 25 meter pool. I am up to 17 laps (850 meters) of resistance walking in the water. My next appointment is for next February.
