I used to work at a practice where receptionists had to answer the phone: “Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. How may I direct your call?” Had a couple of people quit/get fired because they couldn’t learn to pronounce Otolaryngology.

And besides, if you get over your fear, it is not really all that hard to pronounce!
