You have to feel sorry for Little Margie in the second panel. It’s really not her fault and she feels bad about it. With the “problem solved” in the last panel, she’s clapping like a little kid.
What if the call was to Dick Tracy, claiming she “found” crime evidence that might be of interest to him. Solves 2 problems at once—getting rid of it, & the appearance she is helping Tracy.
I’m sorry for Little Margie. She is either dimwitted or very young or both. I’m sure she would’nt have participated in any wrongdoing if te was’nt for her older cousins, expecially Big Meanie Margie.
It is Middle Margie’s fault, if she tossed it into the dumpster behind the store, where anyone could have found it, including Dick Tracy.
The question is who Big Margie called, and why it’s going to require both Big and Middle Margies. I think things are going to get a lot worse real soon, depending on who and where they’re going to meet.
Shelly’s been doing some great work with the expressions of these characters. Big Margie has a real cold, hard look in that first panel, worthy of any Dick Tracy villain.
The back view in panel 3 and the front view in panel 4 should have middle and little Margie reversed. That is unless middle Margie moved to the other side between frames.
I was about to post that but I see you beat me to it. Good catch Comics. ApolloNeil, panel 3 is Clearly a back view, (see Little Martin’s ponytail) and Middle Margie’s right arm is over the right shoulder. In panel 4 her left arm is over the left shoulder. Could she have switched sides between 3 & 4?, sure! Most likely it’s a sloppy mistake. You know I’ve been the first to compliment Shelley’s work the past few days but a mistake is a mistake and this is a mistake. Stop defending the indefensible. Cheers!
Hmm. Why does it require both Big and Middle Margie to get rid of the satchel? It’s not very smart to leave Little Margie alone to meet with Sam and Tracy as they arrive to execute the search warrant! —Unless stone-cold evil Big Margie intends to get rid of more than just the purse….
And I must contend with Avenger09’s claim that “panel 3 is Clearly a back view.” It is not. I can easily and believably read it as a front view; compare for example, the position and appearance of Little Margie’s ponytail in panels 2 and 3. Neil Wick was correct about this.
Neil and Sisyphos, it’s not me imagining what ever I want, it’s what’s there! Everything points to it being a mistake. The ponytail, the light fixture, the shadowing, little Margie’s slumping, Middle Margie’s elbow. All of it points to it being right arm, right shoulder in panel 3 and left arm, left shoulder in panel 4. Accept it. (Sydnyisk bold type included!)
So, I have a question: whatever happened to the gun? We see it exactly once: in panel 2 of the May 2nd strip. It’s not in the trash with the disguise. If they still have it, a search warrant would find it.

Good morning guys!
A visit to the crematorium, perhaps? That would take care of the problematic book.

Get rid of the body— I mean, satchel. It’s almost like getting rid of a body. Big Margie has a secret plan for it.

Why take Middle Margie and leave Little Margie minding the store?
And what will happen if Tracy arrives with a warrant?

Little Margie is the big child and is being misused by Big Margie.

Maybe Big Margie intends to plant it on a Jew?
And I suspect the detectives will return, and have only Little Margie to question.

There’s a motel out on the old highway with a swamp in the back; I know the owner – we’ll sink it there (if he still has room)…

How hard can it be to get rid of a satchel?

About all Tracy is going on is they paid their rent in cash. Hardly search warrant stuff.

Events like last night’s horrific attack make any issues we have in Tracyville insignificant by comparison! Thought and prayers to those suffering.

Could someone help me. Does anyone have the Link of that cute, brief storyline of B.O. and Chick Tracy?
