My best guess is it has something to do with ancient Greek.
I suppose it might make as much sense anymore to teach kids the alphabet in the order as it appears on keyboard
Could be tough to rewrite that alphabet song to go with the QWERTY order
This is an arbitrary and nonsensical conversation. If the Phoenicians put the letters in this order: aienfp…we could say that’s alphabetical order. There’s no rhyme or reason why the letters are in the order they’re in.
I just hope they never change the alphabetical order, or I may flunk my sobriety test.
