    It was arranged that way to slow down typists to keep the type bars from jamming….

    Which actually sped up the process. They did do it to prevent jamming, but not to slow it down, but to make it more efficient.

    why is an “a” shaped like an “a” or an “A”? is that what that shape sounds like if we could hear shapes? Is “A” really the capitalized version of “a” and why have I never seen it in nature?

    My Xperia Keyboard updated and it now has the numbers above the letters, I used to have to press the “123” button for the numbers to come up.

    When the QWERTY inventors laid it out, they also created a contest for publicity based on finding the longest word that could be typed with only the top line of letters. Give up? TYPEWRITER. That shure ain’t no co-inkydink.

    Extra credit: What languages use the AWERTY and ZWERTY keyboards?
