Used to have a 90 pound dog who did that. She’d race from one side of the back seat to the other until the car rocked.
When I’d walk my half-labs, they’d “quarter” the sidewalk, path, road, whatever, going back and forth. I now had a puppy who’s starting to do the same thing. It’s innate, I think.
They make a canoe list to one side, and then to the other.
