Growing up, I remember we always had the fan blowing outward as part of a different cooling method: we’d draw the cooler air in, and expel the hotter air at night, then when it heated up during the day, we’d close the windows and the shades to retain the cool air inside.
It had only one problem: it didn’t work at all. But it was cheap, and THAT’S what was really important.
Even at night I can’t open the windows because the humidity is high an you don’t want your interior humid. Can ruin all kinds of things you wouldn’t want damp.
My grandmother’s house has deep window sills. In the summer, we’d scootch down to the foot of the bed, and rest our feet in the sill, to get the cool night breezes. I miss that.

What exactly is Calvin complaining about? Hobbes is the one that has to deal with the warmth.

No one has mentioned humidity. That’s what I hope the AC is taking care. The cool air is very nice, but I am as worried about the humidity.
