Seen face-on, that does look like Sue Doko. And Thick? When she says “Who are you,” et cetera, that’s more than a hint to identify yourself. Or is this a comedy of errors where Sue and Thick wear such clever disguises that they can’t recognize one another? And, somehow, they’ve both disguised their voices beyond recognition?
And WHY is he wanted by the law? Thick, it’s time to play “Name That Crime!”
Speaking of panel #3, why does Simon Penn say that?
davidf42, don’t tell that to Thick, he’ll go to the nearest graveyard and arrest everyone for loitering! Then we’ll really have a bone to pick with him!
What’s really going on here? Our Thick can’t possibly have turned into the agent of a sinister police state! No, it’s something far more diabolic! Remember that Thick knows D-cubed is dead and buried, but now he’s back! That’s why yesterday he put deceased in quote marks! And lookit the blank stares on all the homeless guys! The trancelike way they said “Leave him alone!” in unison! Zombies! Criminal zombies! They ain’t ZZ Top, they’re the Ungrateful Dead!
My guess du jour is that Thick gets initiated into the Hole In The Head gang. Sue Doko explains all her eeeevil plans to him, after which she announces she’s gonna shoot Thick because now he knows all her secrets. It’s gotta be that way because how can you have a criminal conspiracy without a crime?
If we can believe Simple Simon, (who fully appreciates every stoke of the DL pen) Artist Locher has become very excited about the ‘attention value’ and laudatory comment on his ’BRILLIANT’ building signs for Morphville’s POLICE HQ. …
and so now, we can anticipate a brand new ‘design’ later this week !
So all of a sudden everyone decided against beating up Dick instead opting to stop and discuss the problem? Too bad Dick is grasping at straws. They should just tackle him. And speaking of, whatever happened to that running tackle he did? Shouldnt they be on the ground? Or did they just get up, dust themselves off and start talking?
Thanks again to the writers telling me where to find
the Phantom – I also found Mandrake the Magician there.
I think both of them were done by Lee Falk at one time.
Today’s episdoe – the oriental/Korean looking guy on
Sunday turned into a woman!
VanDork -Aside from two, now ‘retired’ aficanados of ‘Dick Locher’ (as distinct from the Dick Tracy) we have had only three transient supporters of the strip in the past two years all using a nom de plume - (hillariously, one even clichéd with the moniker - ‘DLisagenius’ ;-).
Everyone is entitled to a view but that’s the sort of hyperbole that’s unleashed on boards by FANATICS who think the strip is more about the Author than the characters. While the rest of the world sees mounting decay and destruction their favorite comic strip
Simon’s identity ? … here’s a Nursery Rhyme clue
Two Yellow Ducky birds sitting on a wall
One named Mackie, one named Gaul.
Fly away Mackie, fly away Gaul
Come back _AS_ Simon, simple - that’s all
Simple Simon is probably the same oddball who wrote the gocomics blurb for DT–the one that uses words like “relevant” and “values” to describe what Locher does here.
“He’s wanted by the law.” Today Locher added lying to Thick’s list of abilities. Oh, wait, Thick is the good guy so whatever he does is okay!
What cornball move will Locher pull next? Sue Doko is an activist who has organized the homeless into a bigger and better Symbionese Liberation Army? They abducted and brainwashed D-cubed? Butterfly McCorpse was their henchman? Mrs. D’apostrophe may be committing some real crimes, but they’re red herrings to Locher’s goal.
what is he wanted for? being creepy and giving money to boys? faking his own death and not collecting insurance? something to do with the business contracts with everyone who hated him? dressing like shaggy from scooby doo? i have no clue

Why are they protecting their “pal”, considering that they know he’s wealthy and is obviously not sharing any of it with them?

I’m just wondering which of you plays the part of Simon, whoever it is- you do it well

captainzero, it only makes sense if the homeless have been organized into a gang and expect their leader to reward them later.

The hobo in the last panel just casually admits that a lot of these homeless people are criminals…
