Zonker: Sure could go for a few rays... ah, what's the harm? Boopsie: Zonker, I saw a poll recently that might interest you... Only 8% of Ohio voters have a favorable opinion of John Boehner's tan. Isn't that amazing? Why would a potential Speaker of the House invite such ridicule? Even Obama calls him a "person of color." Zonker: Yeah, Boehner should probably stay in his own lane, race wise... but I'm guessing he's a problem tannist. Once you've perfected that caramel coating, it's wicked hard to stop. I mean, I used to tan professionaly, and I still got hooked. I'll be a recovering tannist for the rest of my life! Boopsie: Hey, why don't you reach out to him, Zonk? Sam: Yeah! You must be like a god to him! Zonker: Well, I'd take his call, but he has to want to change!

Actually, I did email GoComics, and they emailed back! They said they’re aware (oh, boy, are they aware) of the, ah, problem; they think they have a fix; but they can’t implement it until they do the next site update. They didn’t say when exactly that would be. We shall see. I got sick of flagging them. When they’re up 5 to 1 it’s hard to care any more.

Until GoComics fixes their spam problem, don’t buy “Genius” status from them. Make them want to fix the problem.
As to the Human Carrot from Ohio, be careful what you wish for. Being a total douchebag, you’re going to end up just as bad as or worse than the one you want to replace. Fail!

I don’t think of John Boehner’s color as caramel. It’s more like dried tobacco, considering that he is a smoker and takes thousands of dollars from Big Tobacco.
With Boehner as speaker, don’t expect any money spent on projects that Big Tobacco doesn’t want.
By the way, I think that I flagged fifteen comments before getting to the bottom to write this one.

boehner has taken over $2million from the insurance vampires this election season. who knows how much from the banking prostitutes. he’s bought and paid for but the mental midgets from his district are not smart enough to vote him out. he is the lowest of the low, almost as low as the spammers. couldn’t anyone go to their site and dump a virus on ‘em

As for Today’s strip, this one’s a keeper.
I mean, how often do you see Zonker being so…so…so wise? He’s like a zen master of Tan Quon Do.

Let’s give credit where it’s due. ALL Politicians are bought and paid for. They all get money from the devil businesses, medical firms, bankers and insurance companies. Except for a very few people running with their own money (devil rich people), the money doesn’t come mostly from individuals, but from Unions, special interest groups, businesses, etc.
Trashing just a few individuals or one political party doesn’t even begin to address the overall problem, i.e. no one in D.C. cares about anything but their own election, ego and power and will sell themselves to get it any way they can!

Here’s a suggestion for you fellas’
Starting Monday I will be turning in, not the spammers, but the website business site that they are providing the link for to our state’s attorney-general. He loves to prosecute spamming website owners.
Do the same for your state’s attorney-general; since go-comics doesn’t wish to help, then we can simply have the spammers owners fined out of existence.

Teresa, that’s normal practice. The artists who draw the cartoons often provide an extra 2 panels for Sunday strips, and it’s at the newspaper editor’s discretion whether to run them. Since most newspapers are struggling they usually don’t bother showing them, as it means expanding the comics section of the paper.

jrholden1943 - YES! The function of a politician (even one with lofty goals for the office) is Job#1- to get elected.
Once in the job (first day, I’m told) they get introduced to the hamster wheel of fund raising, since Job#2 is -you guessed it- to get REelected.
I heard an interview last weekend with a Brit who mentioned, almost in passing, that they have NO campaign financing, and the campaign can only last six weeks. Sounds like Nirvana from here, drowning in those slick cards (and I stay far away from the TV). Any TV coverage is as news (remember news?)
Wow. If we were to try such a thing, and let all interested participants (almost said parties, but sure, them too) join in lively debate about issues (remember issues? Not mud, the issues that the rest of us care about?) what couldn’t we do?
