Little kids hate having to get into the bath, but the ones I’ve known (and when I was one myself) also hate getting out after they’ve got over the first impression.
One of my cats apparently rested on someones newly-painted deck, and I had to rinse her off: just her belly and paws, so I held her at the sink and used luke-warm water. She was fine with it until I tried to speed up the process by dunking her paws: no thank you! I had to resume dabbing with a washcloth.
My daughter loved being the water from the first day home from the hospital. When she was 18 months old, we tried her in the pool and she screamed until she was actually IN the water. From that day on, she screamed when she had to get out. She’s a great swimmer.
I used to bathe my cats years ago but I started when they were kittens. I would never attempt an adult cat unless it was used to water. (Unless there was really good reason)
My dearly departed Bengal Tiger loved bathing. When I showered, he showered. If I filled up the tub I had to be careful about the temperature because he would jump in and try to swim around without checking to see if it was too hot. (Once it was!) My other 2 Bengals love the water too but not as much as Tiger did. I now shower alone but I still can’t enter a bathroom alone and have to turn on the faucets as soon as I enter. Sometimes I’ll find them trying to turn on the tub faucet. It’s a good thing thing don’t have grip strength.
My first Maine Coon x Tryfan loved to splash and splodge in water but if I had the temerity to attempt to bathe him, well let’s just say a tantrum of epic proportions erupted. The only one that liked baths was Mozart but then he was short of a few brain cells
My big male cat stank of ammonia when we first got him – the person fostering him had a few more cats than she really should have – but we didn’t dare bath him. He’s huge, very strong, and not shy about using teeth and claws to defend himself. Thankfully, after a few days of his own bathing he stopped stinking.

I tried to bathe Yum Yum. Once. In the interest of my continued longevity, I now let her bathe herself.

@Grace, I have seen a few comments from Georgia here. She use to comment all the time on her own site. I do like it when she does comment.

That is one delightfully annoyed Baby. He must put up quite the protest to get his Daddy that wet!
