How long has the cat been missing? Maybe you should check the other end.

Cats are smarter than dogs in some areas. Intelligence is multidimensional. For instance, the average cat can recognize about 200 words. The average dog can recognize 800+ words (sheepdogs 1200+). On the other hand, a cat can measure the distance to a high shelf in seconds, and impart exactly the right amount of kinetic energy with the hind legs to get there.

In a fight to the death, a cat will roll over to get under your belly and start disembowelling with his hind legs and claws, while simultaneously going for the jugular with teeth. Most dogs several times a cats size don’t stand a chance. Heck, a full grown man can quickly crush a house cat, but would be severely wounded in the process. Cats attacking burglars, etc, go for the eyes, not the belly.
