Well first Chuck, you should buy some new checked pants, yours seems to have shrunk in the wash.
If you just had them made with the new “never shrink, never wrinkle, never wear out” fabric from Dennis’s Fabric Emporium and Dairy Bar you wouldn’ be in the kerfuffle you are now!
Like many of us, Chuck has taken a while to get ready for his moment in the sun.
His 37 1/2 years with the Ballard County Planning and Pigeon Fanciers Department didn’t serve to unleash his real passions, or satisfy his craving to make his mark on the world.
The problem is, when we wait so long, we become… well….older…
a bit softer…. a bit slower….
We don’t even notice that our once-sharp edges have been sanded down by the abrasions of daily life.
So go ahead, Chuck.
Let it loose, give it all you’ve got.
I hope you find it fulfilling….
and that you can’t tell how little the world has to fear from it at this point.

Right now, Mildred’s inside wishing Chuck would contribute a little intensity to clean-up and dishwasher duty.

Chuck, I don’t know if the world could take it. But go ahead, give it a try, (with a new pair of pants).

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day:
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
