it makes sense for dogs to wonder about vacuums. They make loud odd noises, they assume the classic play pose and they smell like everything nearby but all squished together.
My little yorkie does this too. She will also jump on the Roomba and bite it. Have to post some video on youtube it is too funny.

Funny how some dogs can be afraid of something and others not. My dog is afraid of thunder but not vacuum cleaners.
