As long as there is injustice, whenever a Targathian baby cries out, wherever a distress signal sounds among the stars, we’ll be there. This fine ship, this fine crew. Never give up… and never surrender.
Don’t worry, Abby. There’ll be another Women’s Professional Soccer League someday. That will vanish too, but there’ll be another league after that. And so on and so on… Frankly, your best chance is probably to focus on being the first woman to play in whatever Men’s League is briefly solvent when you’re at your peak. (As Darkforce said, without your ponytail you look like a boy anyway…)
Bill,
I’m very, very sorry to hear that Cleats is coming to an end.
You’re my hero. The best of the best. I know the last strip, on Halloween Sunday, is supposed to be “worth seeing” (your words), but it’s all very bittersweet.

Well, the newspaper syndication of Cleats is ending, but Gocomics will be rerunning the strip. Everyone can catch up on the first nine years.
Also, I will be looking for other avenues for Cleats outside of newspapers.
Keep your eye on next week’s strips. I kind of had fun on my way out.
BUMMER! I enjoyed Cleats first in the Akron Beacon Journal and was so pleased to find it online after the BJ dropped it several years ago. It’s a great strip ! The kids are just realistic enough. Please keep on in some format and let us know!
Bill, you do know Women’s Professional Soccer resumed in 2009, right? www dot womensprosoccer dot com.
Sorry to hear the strip won’t be published anymore, hope to see some new stuff via other avenues. And please tell us Tank McNamara isn’t going anywhere!
@fritzoid - Major League Soccer has been around for 15 years, most teams own their own stadia now - it’s not going anywhere.

Bill: Create a site and run it online. We’ll find it. Just let us know the address of the web site.

Great! First Annie (June), then Cathy (this month) and now Cleats! Who will it be tomorrow, Dick Tracy?! (well, no one will miss that strip!).

Aw, come on! bad enough celebs keep dying, now more strips keep vanishing? Why does the entertainment industry hate us so?

So where is it online (new strip-wise) in 2022?! It certainly DESERVES to be!
