Electric cars use to not cost so much. Actor Ed Begley Jr. was driving them as far back as the 1970’s.

Electric cars have been around since the late 19th century. Supposedly, my two maiden aunts drove a Detroit Electric around Green Bay WI in about 1910. The story goes, they loved to glide up behind unsuspecting walkers and beep the horn.

Back in the day he was driving one, they were still pretty expensive compared to regular cars and they were also pretty crappy because you could not go far on a charge then you would have to switch to the gasoline motor so you were not really saving all that much.
