You should have educated her about him. Was it Ginger who opened the trap door?

So there was no hope she could learn to appreciate him? Does everybody need to know their date’s favorite everything or else? What if she had a favorite artist, or author, or movie you weren’t familiar with?

I agree on the education. My teenage daughter has in the last year or so has begun to listen to some of my favorite musicians and has like some enough that she has shared the music with her friends. The results have been gratifying.

Katina.Cooper is correct. Start with Miles’ predecessors Bird and Diz and throw in a little Monk. Look on this as a teachable moment. I had a girlfriend who insisted we go to the opera, ballet and classical concerts. I said fine, but when I invited her to come to see a jazz concert with me,(one highlighting Clifford Brown III) she said no. That was the end of that. The Mrs is a big jazz fan and even took piano lessons to play. She does a rendition of “Round Midnight” that will leave you wanting more.
